OUR TRAINING
The Department of Clinical Education oversees the delivery of all medical education provided by the Trust. This includes supporting the University of Leicester Medical School undergraduate programme at UHL and courses for Foundation and Postgraduate Medical staff.
Medical education is funded via a Learning Development Agreement (LDA) with Health Education England – and we are regulated by external bodies including the General Medical Council, the Health Education England working across the East Midlands and specialty schools, and the Royal Colleges. The regulation takes the form of annual trainee surveys, visits (annual, special and informal), annual reports and data submission on end of year completion of training.
Our main function is to ensure that the quality frameworks for the delivery of education and training are in place and meet the requirements of the regulatory bodies and the Trust’s high standards for patient care.
